Fourteen-year-old Jaime Mulholland, a student from Aspire Middle School, in Olympia, recently spent the week in Olympia serving as a page in the state House of Representatives. Twenty-Fifth District Rep. Chris Gildon was his sponsor.

“It was great working with Jaime,” said Gildon, R-Puyallup. “It was my pleasure to sponsor him. He’s smart and talented and I’m confident he has a bright future ahead of him. I hope he enjoyed his time working as a page.”

Jaime’s page duties included learning to navigate the many buildings around the Capitol, delivering messages and documents to legislators and staff, and assisting on the House floor.

In his free time, Jaime enjoys politics and acting and he’s considering studying law.

Each year, students from around the state apply to participate in the legislative page program. Students spent a week attending page school, learning the inner workings of state government and assisting legislators on the House floor. Pages earn $35 a day while serving in the program.
