Rep. Chris Gildon, R-Puyallup, co-sponsored three bills during the 2019 legislative session related to Sound Transit and the $54 billion ST3 package.

  • House Bill 1868 (prime-sponsored by Rep. Jesse Young): would allow Pierce County or its cities to opt out of the tax.
  • House Bill 1956 (prime-sponsored by Rep. Kelly Chambers): change Sound Transit’s Board of Directors from appointed to elected, making it more accountable to the communities it serves.
  • House Bill 2021 (prime-sponsored by Rep. Kelly Chambers): would tie the Motor Vehicle Excise Tax (MVET) to a vehicle’s Kelley Blue Book value rather than the inflated formula that’s currently used.
